As many know I am living in Bucharest Romanina. Ever since I have come to Romania many friends back in the states have asked many questions about hemp in Romania. So for this blog I have (with very little effort) taken these photo of the hemp growing in Bucharest.

You might ask yourself, "who the hell gives a crap?". The answer is simple, MANY! Ya see, alot of the hemp products sold in the USA come from Romania. In some groups of mostly younger friends, the idea of cannbis growing wild everywhere is almost like a wet dream. Thoughts then turn to thoughts of the money that could be made in america if only it was legal. Let me clear one thing up about the law and hemp in Romania. It anit legal to grow it. People that do grow it on their property have in fact been arrested. The Romamian Gov. will tell you that it is not hemp and when they tested it they find "cannboids" & "THC". I am not 100% sure of this, and if you know please post a comment and let me know, but, I think all cannabis produces cannaboids. In any case, this is not the cannabis utopia of many a stoner's dreams.

Here in Romania hemp is called canapa. You can find it growing pretty much everywhere here in Bucharest, which is where most these photos were taken. Go outside of Bucharest and it grows all along the railroad tracks. Also, because people feed it to their animals as well. You will find it growing around fields of sunflowers.

Think just because hemp grows commercially in Romania that you can buy cheap hemp stuff here? It's just not true. In fact most hemp grown commercially in Romania is exported. Sad, but true fact. You can buy hemp seeds in the piatas (like a flea market) a KG sell for 90ron thats about $3 for 2 1/2 pounds. I myself feed to my pet parrot. Most hardware stores sell hemp twine of various stregths. Sometimes you can find hemp fabric. Mostly though sellers here will tell you that fabric made of linen is hemp. You will not find other hemp products for sale. At least not that I have found in the past 8 years.

For all of you that are thinking that I must be "puffing on a fatty" all the time. You could not be more incorrect. This is hemp, You could smoke 100 acres of the stuff and all you'll end up with is a headache. I have heard rumors of people taking a large amount and adding it to milk, letting it sit for a day, then drink the milk. Some claim that you get a bit of a buzz that way. Of course ya take this advise with a grain of salt. I have yet to see anyone do this, nor, have I done this myself.
